Betty Vernell Cagle Abbott, age 79, of Houston, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 15, 1942 in Nauvoo to Virgil and Dorothy Cheshire. Betty was a member of Pleasant Hill Church in Houston.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where the service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Ashbank Cemetery, Nauvoo. Reverend Virgil Cheshire will officiate.
Betty is survived by her husband: James Lee Abbott; son: Rodney (Deanna) Cagle; daughter: Darlene Vice (Jerry Blair); stepdaughter: Michelle Blakenship; sisters: Juan Vernon and Vickie Cheshire; brother: Rev. Virgil (Carolyn) Cheshire; grandchildren: Angie McClellan, Alisha Vice, Charles Vice and Benjamin Cagle; great-grandchildren: Caden Vice, Charles “Jr.” Vice, Nicolas Smith and Drake Pelfrey and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Virgil and Dorothy Cheshire; brother: Dale Cheshire and grandchildren: Cherry Taylor and Coty Pelfrey.
