Edwin “Ed” Eddy Hampton, 74, of Double Springs, entered into rest on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Russellville Hospital.
Ed was born on January 17, 1948 in Lawrence County, Alabama to Alec and Lillie Mae Hampton.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Brother Danny Page and Brother Sherman Kimbrough will officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Ed is survived by his wife: Betty Hampton; son: Darran Hampton; daughters: Pamela Hampton Jones and Josephine Wallace; grandchildren: Brittany (Michael) Howard, Jessica (Justin) White, Branna Hampton, Destiny Hampton, Toby Hampton, Samuel Hampton and William Eddy Jones; one great grandchild; brothers: Irwin (Kathie) Hampton and Kevin (Freda) Hampton; sister: Doris Fay (James) Warren; sister-in-law: Carolyn Lewis and brother-in-law: Linnie (Judy) Garrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Alec and Lillie Mae Hampton; brothers: Eudon, Randall and Richard Hampton; in-laws: Cook and Leo Garrison; sisters-in-law: Edith Garrison New and Beatrice Garrison Hamby and brothers-in-law: Parnell Lewis and Johnny (Judy) Garrison.
