Obituary: Shelva Jean Whatley

Shelva Jean Whatley went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 4, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born on March 28, 1937 to the late Thomas Almon Eubanks and Madge Belle Bennett Eubanks.

Shelva loved her family, being a homemaker and watching the blue birds outside her home. She was a longtime resident of Hanceville and worked as a CNA at the nursing home. She passed away at the Cullman Regional Medical Center with her loving family at her side.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Quinton Whatley; parents: Almon and Madge Eubanks; brother: Harold Eubanks and grandson: Jackson Colt Whatley.

She is survived by her children: Danny (Melissa) Ford, Cindy (Fred) Penn, Tim Ford (Gaynell Partain) and Clark Whatley (Brandy Smith); grandchildren: Whit (Amy) Ford, Corey (Katie) Ford, Zack Ford, Dylan (Rachel) Ford, Riley Ford, Ivy (James) Wright, Teague Whatley and Easton Whatley; great-grandchildren: Willa and Wellsley Ford, Brayden and Maissley Ford, Lucy Ford and Leanna Vincent and siblings: Gaylon (Abbie) Eubanks and Donna (Terry) Trimble.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Hanceville Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Tim Aris and Whit Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Zachary Ford, Dylan Ford, Riley Ford, Whit Ford, Corey Ford, Teague Whatley and Easton Whatley.
