Paula “Mendi” Armenda Watts Davis, age 48, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. She was born October 15, 1973 in Jasper, Alabama to Larry and Phyllis Gilbreath Watts.
Mendi was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She graduated from Troy State University, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Education. She worked as a School Teacher at West DeFuniak Elementary School and for the Walton County School District for over 23 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was an avid Alabama Football fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with her family. She never met a stranger.
Mendi was preceded in death by her two sisters: Malinda Watts and Jamie Watts; her beloved paternal grandmother: Pauline Watts and maternal grandmother: Iola Gilbreath.
Mendi is survived by her parents: Larry and Phyllis Watts of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; her loving husband of 20 years: Michael B. Davis of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; three children: Meghan Davis, Marlee Grace Davis and Micah Wattson Davis; one brother: Jonathan Watts of Freeport, Florida; one sister: Marie Hurley and husband James of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; niece: Jenna Watts and four nephews: Braydon Watts, Jack Hurley, Max Hurley and James Henry Hurley.
A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel (230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435), where the funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Ed Joyner officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Liberty Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 4495 County Road 15, Haleyville, Alabama 35565, with Reverend Larry Watts officiating and Nichols Funeral Home directing.
