David Eric Horton, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on February 11, 2022, at the age of 52. He was born April 11, 1969, in Cullman County, Alabama, to Millard Eldredge and Jacqueline Freeman Horton.
Eric was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, in Holly Pond, where four generations of the Horton family worship their Savior together every Sunday morning. Mr. Horton was an automotive machinist. He owned his own business and he enjoyed getting to work in an industry that he was passionate about. Eric was a fun loving and joyful man. He was always teasing, joking or playing. Eric enjoyed God’s blessing of laughter and humor and he found joy in laughing with those he loved. Eric was always doing for others. He was a giving and loving man, and his heart was that of a servant of Christ. Eric’s love and adoration for his family was evident. He adored wife, his Tara Ann, and his heart belonged to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. Eric was also a loving son, brother and brother-in-law. While our hearts are broken, we also rejoice in knowing that Eric is home with the Father and we are grateful for the blessing Eric has been to so many of us.
Eric was welcomed into heaven by his father: Millard Horton and his grandparents: Art and Gracie Horton.
Eric is survived by his wife: Tara Ann Horton; sons: Eren Horton, Ross and Maggie Bailey and Jacob and Hannah Bailey; daughters: Ashley and Chris Ralph and Kelly Horton Hall; grandchildren: Vera Hall, Valyn Hall, Drew Ralph and Adora Ralph; great-grandchildren: Cora, Maliah, Riley, Selah, Kabri and Paxton; mother: Jackie Horton; brother: Kevin and Lisa Horton; sister: Kathy and Jerome Kilgo; nephews: Grant and Samantha Banks, Kade Horton and Kohl Horton; great-nieces: Kaylee Banks and Alyssa Banks; uncle: Jerry Freeman and his dog, Ratchet.
