Nancy Carolyn Burks, 83, of Vinemont passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born June 12, 1938 in Crane Hill, Alabama.
She was a loving and sweet mother and grandmother and also the Jeopardy queen who never made it to the show. She was a true Bama fan who is yelling “Roll Tide” on the streets of gold.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William Sharpton and Venus Wood Sharpton; husband: James Burks, Jr.; son: Michael Burks; daughter-in-law: Bev Burks and brothers: Bill Sharpton and Al Sharpton.
She is survived by her children: Lisa Reeder, Anita (Mark) Ballew, Dorothy (Mike) Stroud, Bill Burks, Anthony Taylor and Judy Aaron; grandchildren: Zachery Tanner, Mark (Jessica) Tanner, Brittney (Matt) Doth, Brianna Burks, Tyler (Ashley) Ballew, Brandi Burks and Jessica Dubose; nine great-grandchildren; sister: Ruth (Bill) Warren and beloved dog, Bandit.
A graveside service will be Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Crane Hill; Brother Delbert Freeman will officiate.
