MONTGOMERY, Ala. – On Tuesday, former Cullman Economic Development Agency director Peggy Smith was announced as the recipient of the Dave R. Echols Distinguished Service Award for Exemplary Service in Economic Development. The presentation took placed at the Economic Development Association winter conference in Montgomery.

Local delegates in attendance showing support for Smith were Senator Garlan Gudger, Jamie Troutman of CEDA, Cynthia Echols, (wife of the late David Echols) Dale Greer, current director of CEDA, Stanley Kennedy and Belinda Hyatt. Peggy’s son Brad smith accompanied her to Montgomery.
