Donald “Don” Raymond Dossey, age 77, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. Donald was born December 11, 1944 in Moulton, Alabama to William Clifton and Bessie Alene Teague Dossey.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Beverly Johnson and brother: Jacky Dossey.
Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose greatest joy was spending time with family and watching his grandkids grow up. Don retired as superintendent of Cullman City Schools after nearly 30 years in education as a teacher, coach, principal and finally as superintendent. He had a positive impact on the lives of many students, teachers and families. Funeral services are Monday, January 24, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church with Rev. John Richter officiating. Interment will follow services in Cullman City Cemetery.
Survivors are wife: Joyce Butler Dossey; daughter: Kelly Dossey Krigbaum; sons: Jeff Dossey and Scott (Lindsey) Dossey; brother-in-law: David (Donna) Butler; grandchildren: Kate Krigbaum, Allie Krigbaum, Claire Dossey and Jackson Dossey and special caregivers: Cheryl Barbee and Dana Graves.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 24, 2022 at St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Johns Church, Big Oak Ranch of St. Jude’s Hospital.
