Delton Lynn Vaughn, age 79, of Addison, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 28, 1942 in Cullman Henry and Willie Allcorn Vaughn. Delton proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965-1971.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 17, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Mount Vernon First Congregational Methodist, where the service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Vaughn will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Mackey Watts will officiate.
Delton is survived by his wife: Carol Vaughn; daughter: Angie Herald and her husband Shawn; grandchildren: Trevor Vaughn and his wife Ashley, Gracie Yarbrough and her husband Austin and Connor Herald; great-grandson: Ryker Herald; sisters: Jeanette Williams, Lucille Dunnie and her husband Tommie and Karen Rutherford; brother: Danny Vaughn and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Willie Vaughn.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Vaughn, Connor Herald, Austin Yarbrough, Bruce Willingham, Brian Willingham, Barry Willingham and honorary pallbearer, Shawn Herald.
