James Larry Brogdon, of Boaz, Alabama, passed away on Sunday morning, December 5, 2021, at the age of 66. He was born April 13, 1955, in Blount County, to James Brogdon and Betty Sue Watkins Brogdon.
Mr. Brogdon was a trucker by trade. He drove many long hours to provide for his family. He loved to fish, and he enjoyed gardening, making flower beds, and he loved his dogs as well. James loved his family. He and his wife had been married for over forty years. James enjoyed any time spent with his wife and sons. He didn’t realize just how grand grandchildren were, he said, or he would have had them first. James was loved much, and he will be missed much.
Mr. Brogdon is preceded in death by his father, James Brogdon, and a brother, J.L. Brogdon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Brogdon; mother, Betty Brown (Charles); sons, Stacey Brogdon, Carl Brogdon (Kelly), Derek Brogdon, Chris Bryant (Janet); brothers, Dennis Brogdon, Michael Brogdon (Bett); grandchildren, Tiffany (Cody) Baldwin, Isaac Brogdon; Austin (Brianna) Brogdon, Paige Brogdon, Mackenzie Powell, Brooklynn Powell, Carleigh Brogdon; and a great-grandchild, Ayden Brogdon.
Funeral services for Mr. Brogdon are 1 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2021, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Paul Kelley and Blake Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow services in Antioch Cemetery, Blountsville, Alabama. Isaac Brogdon, Derek Brogdon, Cody Baldwin, Michael Seay, Mitchell Brogdon, Zach Melvin, Austin Brogdon, and Chris Bryant will serve as pallbearers, with Ronald Webb as honorary pallbearer. Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation, at the funeral home, on Wednesday evening, December 8, 2021, from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m.
