PREP SWIMMING: CHS Swim Team earns 2nd place at North Alabama Championship

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. – Cullman High School’s Swim Team put together another great showing at Saturday’s North Alabama Championship in Albertville and faced off against several fellow North League opponents. Cullman’s girls team earned the runner-up spot behind Bob Jones and Cullman’s boys finished third. Together the teams combined to finish second overall out of the 14 schools in attendance.  

Top event finishes included:

  • Madison Clements – First in the 200-yard freestyle (with a new school record) and second in the 100-yard butterfly
  • Chase Duncan – Third in the 100-yard backstroke
  • Ruby Hudson – Third in the 100-yard breaststroke
  • First place – Women’s 200-yard freestyle relay team (Ruby Hudson, Anna Page, Morgan Fuller and Madison Clements)
  • Second place – Women’s 200-yard medley relay team (Morgan Fuller, Ruby Hudson, Anna Page and Madison Clements)
  • Second place – Men’s 200-yard freestyle relay team (CJ Arnold, Rhett Tysinger, Chase Duncan and Brody Schaefer)
  • Third place – Men’s 200-yard medley relay team (Chase Duncan, Brody Schaefer, CJ Arnold and Hilson Cole)

14 CHS athletes will compete again in the North Sectional Meet on November 19 for a shot at qualifying for this year’s state competition.
