CULLMAN, Ala. – Phillips Elite Construction and Cullman Caring for Kids have partnered together to present the #STOMPOUTHUNGER food drive. This is a Thanksgiving countywide food drive that is designed to help feed Cullman County during the holidays.

Some of the items sought are applesauce, canned beans, canned chicken, canned fish, canned meat, canned vegetables, cereal, cooking oils, crackers and pasta. Students and parents are encouraged to get involved and bring as much as they can to donate to the food drive.

Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 classes, Top 3 individuals and Top School overall, with the Top Class in the County receiving $200.

The announcement made by Cullman Caring for Kids said, “Today, we kick off our countywide school food drive. All schools in Cullman County and City have been invited to participate in a food drive through November 17. The top class in High, Middle and Elementary will receive $200, and second will receive $75. The student who brings the most items in each division will receive a gift card. If you would like to donate to this drive but do not have a child in any of the schools, please bring donations straight to Cullman Caring for Kids. We look forward to a great drive and seeing kids helping to feed the families in their communities.”

Cullman City Primary announced that they would be holding an Auburn vs. Alabama Canned Food Drive and Penny Drop through Wednesday, November 17.

“Bring in any non-perishable food items (canned foods or dry boxed foods such as cereal, noodles, beans, etc.) and place them in the Auburn box or Alabama box in the front office. Drop your spare change in the jar of your choice, also located in the front office,” reads a statement from CCPS.

All food items will be donated to the Cullman Caring for Kids Food Bank, and Penny Drop proceeds will help fund Cullman City Primary’s “Christmas Care” program for CCPS families in need.
