John Booth Dutton, 76 of Double Springs, entered into rest on Friday, October 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on March 28, 1945 in Pratt City, Alabama.  He proudly served his country for 25 years in the United States Army and Army Reserves.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Kelly Mill (New Hope Baptist Church) Cemetery in Double Springs. Brother Mickey Millican will officiate.

John is survived by his wife: Emma Dutton; daughters: Cynthia Hamilton and her husband Steve, Tammy Lynn and her husband John and Lisa Curtis and her husband George “Butch”; grandchildren: Heather Miller and her husband Kyle, Ryan Curtis, Riley Curtis, Bryant Lynn, Nick Parrish, Jessie Redd and Brittney Smith; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters: Barbra Atkins and Shirley Burgett; nephew: Steven Dutton and a host of other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father: James Dutton; mother: Evelyn Dutton; daughter: Connie Redd; brothers: James Dutton, Allen Dutton and Bobby Dutton and sisters: Ella Mae Swindle and Marilyn Shockley.
