MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – After collecting a big region win over Athens at Oliver Woodard Stadium last week, the ‘Cats were back on the road Friday night to take on the high-powered Muscle Shoals Trojans. The Bearcats got on the board early to cut into the Trojans’ lead but couldn’t keep pace with Muscle Shoals on the road and dropped their regular season finale 42-7.

Cullman received the kick to start the game but was forced to punt after a three-and-out. The Trojans got things started with a quick scoring drive and found the end zone with around seven minutes left in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead. Muscle Shoals put another touchdown on the board late in the first to make it a 14-0 game going into the second, but Noah Kee cut into the lead and made it a 14-7 game early in the second quarter with a 35-yard touchdown run.

The Trojans responded quickly with a scoring drive that stretched the lead to 21-7 midway through the second and they found the end zone again just before the break to make it a 28-7 game going into halftime.

Muscle Shoals tacked on another touchdown early in the third quarter to extend the lead to 35-7 and added one more score at the start of the fourth to wrap up a 42-7 win over the Bearcats.

Cullman finishes the regular season with a record of 7-3 and will have next week off before traveling for round one of the state playoffs in two weeks.
