Larry Edwin Preiss, Sr., age 85, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. Larry was born February 4, 1936 in Cullman, Alabama.
Larry is survived by his wife of 64 years: Nancy Hart Preiss; his children: Larry (Susie) Preiss Jr., Gary Preiss, Jerry Preiss, Janine Howard, Daniel (Mandy) Preiss, John (Theresa) Preiss and Angel (Ryan) Eubanks; his son-in-law: Billy Taylor; his honorary son: Rob Sandlin; his brother: Steve Preiss; 31 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert Martin and Lou Emma Cole Preiss; daughter: Cheryl Taylor; his granddaughter: Kimberly Elizabeth Preiss and his great-granddaughter: Violet Gil.
Larry was a devoted and loving husband and loving father to many. He was a lifelong baptized member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed being a part of the church choir for over 40 years. He loved to serve as an elder of the church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
A visitation for Larry will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. A celebration of life funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. An internment to occur at Mt Carmel Cemetery in Berlin.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Music Committee (513 4th Ave SE., Cullman, Alabama 35055 US).
