HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Hanceville Bulldogs were back on the road this week to take on one of the strongest teams in their region and unfortunately for Bulldog fans, they were not able to find a lot of success. Hanceville traveled to Etowah for a regional matchup against the Blue Devils and was sent home with a 44-0 loss.

A pair of early touchdowns gave Etowah a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and the Blue Devils were able to find the end zone two more times before the end of the period to make it a 30-0 game going into the second. Another touchdown made it a 37-0 game early in the second quarter and Etowah managed to extend its lead to 44-0 by the halftime break.

Hanceville’s offense was unable to get anything going in the second half and the running clock made it even tougher for the Bulldogs to chip away at the lead. At the end of the shortened second half, the Blue Devils held on to defeat Hanceville 44-0 and send the Bulldogs home with a region loss.

Hanceville’s record falls to 2-5 with the loss and the Bulldogs will be back home next week for another regional matchup against Ashville.
