Ruth Inez Ruehl was born March 27, 1919 and passed away October 3, 2021
Her parents were Hershel and Katie Marchman Eidson.
Survivors include daughter: Elizabeth Ruth Ruehl of Alpharetta, Georgia; son: Herman, Jr. (Bill) and wife Hazel of Cullman; grandsons: Tony (Raquel) Ruehl of Meridian, Mississippi and Nic (Laura) Ruehl of Cullman and five great-grandchildren.
Inez led a long and active life. She was always very involved in community events. She was a charter member of Pilot Club and was always active and supportive in their activities, including serving on their board for many years and as treasurer multiple times. She served on the Pilot Light Home Board up until about five years ago. She and Lorene Scott started Christmas Love and worked very diligently helping Cullman’s children in need. She was a member of the BPW, a member of the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild, she belonged to the Red Hatters and enjoyed all her groups very much. Inez was a lifelong member of St. John’s Church. She was active in the Women’s Guild and sang in the choir for many years. In the 1970’s, she donated The Weiss Cottage to the City of Cullman. The Weiss Cottage had been in the Ruehl family for many years. She is at peace now with her husband and little girl who were killed in a car wreck in 1958.
Inez will have a visitation at Moss Service Funeral Home on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life graveside service at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her memory to the Pilot Light Home (PO Box 221, Cullman, AL 35056, or to St. John’s Church,).
