PREP SWIMMING: Cullman girls, boys place 1st, 2nd at Bearcats Invitational

CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman High School’s Swim Team hosted 14 league schools last night in the annual Bearcat Invitational meet at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatics Center. The CHS girls’ team finished first overall, and the guys’ team finished second behind Scottsboro. Throughout the meet’s 22 events, the bearcat swimmers collected 18 new personal best times, nine 1st place finishes, and one new school record by freshman Chase Duncan in the men’s 100-yard backstroke. Top finishers in their events included the following:

  • Madison Clements – 1st in the 50-yard freestyle and 1st in the 100-yard backstroke
  • Ruby Hudson – 1st in the 200-yard IM and 2nd in the 100-yard breaststroke
  • Anna Page – 1st in the 100-yard butterfly and 2nd in the 200-yard freestyle
  • CJ Arnold – 1st in the 200-yard IM and 2nd in the 100-yard backstroke
  • Chase Duncan – 1st in the 100-yard backstroke (new school record) and 2nd in the 200-yard IM
  • Brody Schaefer – 2nd in the 50-yard freestyle and 2nd in the 100-yard breaststroke
  • Camp Smith – 2nd in the 500-yard freestyle
  • Girls Relay (Morgan Fuller, Ruby Hudson, Anna Page, and Madison Clements) – 1st in the 200-yard medley relay and 1st in the 200-yard freestyle relay
  • Guys Relay (Chase Duncan, Brody Schaefer, Hilson Cole, and CJ Arnold) – 1st in the 400-yard freestyle relay and 2nd in the 200-yard medley relay

The bearcat swimmers will be back in action at home again on October 14th for their last hosted meet of the season.
