ARAB, Ala. – After handline Brewer last week, Arab returned to its home field Friday night for regional showdown against Pell City. An early safety gave the Knights an edge over early and their performance on the defensive side of the ball kept the Panthers’ offense in check for most of the night, helping pave the way for a 17-6 win.

After a scoreless first quarter, a safety gave Arab a 2-0 advantage early in the second quarter. The Knights were able to find the end zone later in the period to stretch the lead to 9-0 and Arab’s defense held Pell City scoreless in the first half to make it a 9-0 game at the break.

Neither team had much offensive success in the third quarter and the Knights went into the final frame leading the Panthers 9-0. Arab was able to find the end zone early in the fourth quarter and a successful two-point conversion made it a 17-0 game. However, Pell City responded quickly and put six points on the board to cut the lead to 17-6 with just under four minutes remaining. The Knights bowed up defensively and those were the only points the Panthers could come up with. Arab held on to win it 17-6.

The Knights improve to 6-1 with the win and have a huge regional matchup at home against Oxford next week.
