FALKVILLE, Ala. – After dropping a region matchup to Aliceville at home last week, Cold Springs hit the road for a non-region game against the Blue Devils of Falkville. The Eagles fell behind early and couldn’t keep pace with the Blue Devils throughout the night in a 49-7 road loss.
Falkville scored to take an early, 7-0 lead over the Eagles and found the end zone two more times in the opening period to take a 21-0 lead into the second. The Blue Devils put three more scores on the board in the second quarter and went into the locker room at halftime leading Cold Springs 42-0.
Another Falkville touchdown came late in the third quarter to stretch the lead to 49-0. The Eagles were able to get on the board early in the fourth quarter when Hank Harrison found the end zone and trimmed the lead to 49-7 but that was as close as Cold Springs could get to the Blue Devils and Falkville held on to defeat the Eagles 49-7.
Cold Springs falls to 0-5 with the loss and will be back home next week for a regional showdown against Addison.
