SSgt Ronald Hugh Hall 

Ronald Hugh Hall was born June 11, 1945 in Cullman County.  He grew up in Cullman and joined the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War and began his tour on November 11, 1970. 

Hall was a general vehicle repairman and was attached to the 11th Light Infantry Brigade, 17th Cavalry, H Troop. He earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. On June 30, 1971, Hall was killed in action by an explosive device in the Quang Nam provinces of South Vietnam at the age of 26.  

Hall had earned the Bronze Star twice, the Army Commendation Medal three times and was awarded the Purple Heart. He also left behind his young wife Bonnie.  

Hall is buried at Cullman Memorial Gardens and is memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. on Panel 03w, Line 94. He is also honored at Cullman’s Veterans Memorial Park on the Vietnam Monuments.
