Doyle Bruce Love, age 87, passed away on September 12, 2021, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cullman County, Alabama on September 2, 1934 to Marlin Elmer Love and Venora Yeager Love.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Earlene Pearson Love; daughter: Sabrina Love Mangum; son-in-law: Dean Mangum; granddaughters: Cheyenne Mangum and Emma Leah Vondrasek (Cody); great-grandson: Troy Vondrasek and his sister: Patti Love Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law: O.T. Williams.
Bruce loved his country from a young age and was a true patriot, always flying the American flag. He served in the U S Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Randolph in the Mediterranean Sea. He started a carburetor business with Hubert Rusk in Cullman. Then, he worked at Smith & Waldrop as parts manager and service manager for several years in the 50s and 60s. Later, he worked for at Wallace State for 17 years, first as Instructor of Auto Mechanics and then, as flight instructor for the new Wallace State Aviation School program. In 1985, together with son-in-law Dean Mangum, he founded a successful business in Cross Creek Tractor Company.
Services for Bruce will be at Moss Service Funeral Home in Cullman, Alabama, Sunday, September 19. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m, with funeral at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Graveside service following at Fairview United Methodist Church.
