GOOD HOPE, Ala. – A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday morning in the City of Good Hope at the site of the soon-to-be Good Hope Medical, which will specialize in occupational health and urgent care. The new healthcare complex has been in the planning stages for several months with Dr. Adam Harrison, DO and his wife, Lindsay Harrison, CRNP. They were joined by Representative Corey Harbison, Good Hope Mayor Jerry Bartlett, Cullman County Commission Chairman Jeff Clemons and other officials and individuals for Friday’s ceremony.

Dr. Harrison, a Cullman native, said of the new complex in Good Hope, “It’s a special town that’s for sure. We will have urgent care and occupational health. We tried to position it in the county where industry is right here in our back door, and we hope to assist them.”

The location will also fill the void of urgent care services in south Cullman County, as well as being able to provide care closer to Smith Lake. “Just looking out, there was a need down here,” Dr. Harrison added.

If all goes as planned, the Harrison’s expect to open in approximately six months. The contractor for the project is Lindsay’s father David Hawkins with Freeman & Associates, out of Columbus, Georgia.

Mayor Bartlett was beyond excited to make the official announcement of the new medical facility. He told the crowd, “This is a big deal for Good Hope and a huge deal for Cullman County.” Good Hope Medical will be located on the large parcel adjacent to Good Hope Pharmacy to the west. Bartlett is hopeful this is just the start of positive growth in the city.
