CULLMAN, Ala. – Dreher’s Cocktail Bar and Restaurant officially reopened its doors six weeks ago and have been making a lot of noise since. Co-owner Christine Chamblee sat down with The Tribune to discuss the changes made to inspire the recent and growing success.
When asked about the state of business since the grand reopening, Chamblee shared, “The support from our regulars has been amazing, and we have been ecstatic to welcome so many new guests as well! It is so nice to see the community supporting locally owned and operated businesses!”
As for the new elements brought to the table at Dreher’s, Chamblee shared, “Chef Eli and his team have refreshed the menu to mainly focus on elevated bar food. They have come up with some fun, creative dishes for our guests to enjoy. We have also stared doing specific specials throughout the week, such as Wednesday being a pasta special to go along with our wine specials, Thursday being tacos and salsa flights to go with our margarita flights we offer and weekends are the wild card… They throw out some incredible dinner specials!”
Chamblee is a Cullman native and expressed her genuine surprise at the outpouring of support from the community. “I never expected for so many people to reach out when we needed the help to get the doors back open. These have been some crazy times to push through. Working through a pandemic and a nationwide staffing shortage for this industry is certainly not exactly what I would have chosen to go through this year,” she laughed, “But I will say it has forced us to think outside the box and form a tight-knit staff— that without whom, we would not be where we are today. Everyone pulled together to help me get the doors back open, and I just want to say I am so incredibly blessed to be able to work alongside, and lead, the crew we have.”
There is certainly a lot to look for from Dreher’s in the months to come. “We have so many exciting things coming to the Cullman community. We will be bringing back our Bourbon & Cigar Night, we are now open for Sunday brunch, featuring a build-your-own-Bloody Mary bar and mimosa flights. We also have a fun surprise for our fellow plant lovers here in Cullman. We have a ton of ideas that we plan to bring to life, and we can not wait for the community to enjoy them!” Chamblee said excitedly.
