Carl James Thomas, 73, of Holly Pond, passed away on September 1, 2021. He was born November 11, 1947, in Cullman County, to Merrit Arnold and Lora Evelena Duke Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed worshipping his Savior. Carl worked many years as a machinist for General Dynamics. He was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed cheering on his team. Carl adored his dogs Cooper, Buddy and Milo, and he cherished his wife, children and grandchildren. He was loved greatly, and he will be missed greatly.
Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Curtis Thomas and Cecil Thomas and his sister: Francis Cothran.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife: Ginger Thomas; son: Carl Thomas, Jr. (Cristie); daughters: Belinda Johnson (Teck) and Tracie Boyd (Jim); grandchildren: Drew Johnson, Bailey Johnson, Jesse Thomas, Levi Thomas, Emilie Boyd, Peyton Boyd, Jordan Mize (Harley) and Devin Mize (Gabby); brother: Jerry Thomas (Jerl); sister: Betty Kelley (Miles) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Herman Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery where Teck Johnson, Drew Johnson, Brayden Boyd, Jim Boyd, Mark Thomas and Jordan Mize will serve as pallbearers. Friends are invited to visit with the family two hours prior to services, from 11:00 a.m., until services begin at 1:00 p.m.
