CULLMAN, Ala. – St. Paul’s Lutheran School will be hosting their Inaugural Golden Apron Competition on Saturday, Sept. 18. This competition will be a cook-off fundraiser for the school, and the theme will be ‘Tailgate’ and will have three categories: Appetizer, Main Dish and Dessert. Cash and prizes will be awarded to the winner of each category, with the People’s Choice winner receiving the Golden Apron.
If interested in competing in the Inaugural Golden Apron Competition, sign up to cook at https://stpaulscullman.com. When signing up, a team can consist of up to five members with a registration fee of $50 per team, or individual competitor. Registration fees can be paid by cash or check, with checks being made payable to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School. When registering, information required is Team Name, Team Captain, contact number, and category of participation (Appetizer, Main Dish, Dessert), with the deadline for registration Sept. 10.
There will be plenty of food to go around and a family-friendly atmosphere, as well as a play area and bouncy castle fun for kids. For those not competing, make plans to sample any of the entries and cast votes for the People’s Choice winner.
Creative Services Director Emily Trahan shared, “We are very excited to host this cook-off competition! There are three categories to compete in and the theme is ‘tailgate’. We hope to continue to have The Golden Apron Cook-off for years to come. We welcome any opportunity for fun and fellowship. This family-friendly event will have a kids’ area complete with bounce houses and more. If you are the grill master in your family, we encourage you to enter and earn bragging rights for the whole year as a winner of the Golden Apron.
