Funeral services for Freda Annette Batten, 77, of Hanceville, Alabama will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 27 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Welti Cumberland Cemetery. Reverend Lonnie Goodwin will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Batten was born on November 22, 1943 to James and Harriett Armstrong in Cullman. She died at the age of 77 in Birmingham.
Survivors include her children: Rhonda King, James Self, Regina McAlister and Gary Self; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and sisters: Margaret Teal, Jimmie Durham, Cathy Jensen and Debbie Ferrell.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Batten was preceded in death by her sister: Shelby Jean McAnnally.
