It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of mother and wife,

Margaret Alene Hoenig of Cullman, Alabama, on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the age of 87

years.

Surrounded by her beloved family, she passed away peacefully at her home in the Good Hope

community where she lived throughout her adult life as she raised her family and attended to

the successful business that she and her husband Ben ran for many years until their retirement.

Ben Hoenig Appliance was well known locally and deeply respected in the community for the fair

and honest business practices they prided themselves upon.

Margaret is survived by her faithful husband of 69 years: Ben Andrew Hoenig, who was faithfully

at her side without fail. Married in 1952, they raised four children who were the center of their

lives, and they were blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Born on January 12, 1934, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents: Herald Kyle Tilley and

Maudie Gilleland Tilley of the Bethsadia community, as well as her sisters: Desmer Dunn

(Charles) and Alma Nix (Jack) and brother: Dwight Tilley (Faye). She attended Grandview School and

was a graduate of Cullman High School.

Survivors include her beloved husband: Ben; son: Eddy A. (Deborah) Hoenig; three daughters:

Regenia (John) Geisen, Anita (David) Antaillia and Connie (William) Bailey, all residing in

Cullman, and her sister: Ethelene Tilley Logan of Birmingham.

Grandchildren are Lauren Hoenig, Anna Hoenig, Blake (Jamie) Brauer, Michael (Lacy) Brauer,

Anthony (Laura) Geisen, Olivia (Bryan) Israel, Emma Antaillia (Hunter) Jarrell, Chelsey Bailey

Geisen, Henry Jarrell, Fisher Gammon and Shepard Gammon.

She is also survived by a host of dearly loved nieces and nephews.

As well as being a successful homemaker, Margaret delighted in working alongside Ben as they

ran their appliance business and mobile home park as well as farming on the land they loved,

raising crops, cattle and beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. She was happiest outside

working on the land, building their businesses, helping her children and worshipping and

working in her church. A lifelong Baptist, she served in many positions over the years including Vacation Bible School director, Missions director and Sunday School teacher.

She also quietly and unselfishly provided care and assistance to many people in need throughout

the community.

The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people

who provided comfort and care and prayers to our mother and family.
