Ramon L. Blanks, age 87, died peacefully in the hands of his loving wife of 70 years on August 9, 2021.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. Ryan’s Creek Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Greg Davis officiating.
Ramon was born on January 6, 1934, in Birmingham, Alabama to Irene Walls and Sam Carter Blanks. Ramon enjoyed a successful career as a civil engineer with ALDOT for more than 30 years. Over the years, he traveled many roads, made many friends and loved every second of his adventure we call life. Ramon served many years in the church and loved the Lord. Ramon is preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, Sam and Ervin Blanks and his son: Steve Blanks. He is survived by his wife: Betty Blanks; his son: Rodney Blanks (wife, Becky Blanks); five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and all of their families. Ramon was known lovingly as papa by his family who will celebrate his life and carry his memory on forever.
