CULLMAN, Ala. – Isaiah Barnett will soon begin his senior year at Cullman High School. Shortly after his graduation in 2022, he will be leaving for boot camp with the United States Marine Corps. He signed with the Marines on his 17th birthday.
Barnett became interested in joining the military when he was in the sixth grade. He decided on the Marines stating, “It was the best option and something that I think will make me a better person.”
Barnett is scheduled to leave for basic at Parris Island on May 30, 2022, just three days after his high school graduation. His occupation will be infantry.
Barnett added, “I would like to thank everyone who has supported this decision to go through with the Marine Corps.”
