Funeral service for James Ottis Sweatmon Jr., 83, of Cullman will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 6, 2021 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will be in the Holly Pond Cemetery. Brother Malcolm Carter, II will officiate the service.

Mr. Sweatmon was born November, 22, 1937 to James Ottis Sr. and Hester Gorham Sweatmon. He passed from this life August 4, 2021 at the Cullman Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his dad: James Ottis Sweatmon Sr.; mom: Hester Gorham Sweatmon; brother: Edward Sweatmon; sisters: Lavonda Blackwell and Jeanette Estes; great-granddaughter: Preslee Gail Brand and great-grandson: Tucker Joseph Mitchell.
He is survived by Martha Smith (wife); kids: Donna Osborne (Jim), Joan Blakemore, Glenda Bates (Randy), Sheila Nuss (Greg), Lynn Sweatmon (Janet), Anzolette Mitchell, Jamesina Femiano (Mike), James Lansford (Samantha) and Sandy Lansford; 16 grandkids; 30 great-grandkids and sisters: Fay Owen and Gaye Cannington.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Sweatmon, Matt Blakemore, Adam Blakemore, Trey Kimbrell, Jonathan Mitchell, Joseph Mitchell, Jeremy Sims and Michael Crowe.
Honorary pallbearers are Jim Osborne, Greg Nuss, Randy Bates, William Birdsong, Cody Brand, Ryan Robertson and Justin Kent.
