CULLMAN, Ala. – The Alabama Department of Public Health has released guidelines for public schools as the start of the 2021-2022 school year draws near. As we have learned from the past year, information and recommendations are subject to change quickly. Below is the latest mask guidance based on the ADPH toolkit.

On school campuses: Cullman County Schools recommends students and staff wear masks while on school campuses. At the present time, this is a recommendation, not a requirement. Both the Cullman County Commission on Education and Superintendent Barnette believe any mask requirement should be the decision of each parent.

During school transportation: CDC’s order to wear masks while on public conveyances applies to all public transportation including school buses. Passengers and drivers must wear masks on school buses at all times.

Further updates and changes will be communicated as needed.
