Teddy Russell Carter, 64, of Centreville entered into rest on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Bibb Medical Center.
Mr. Carter was born on March 28, 1957 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Teddy was a good husband, dad, son and brother who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. If you needed him, he was there for anything. He enjoyed fishing, raising chickens and anything outdoors.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where the service will begin at 1 p.m. Brother Daniel Morrison will officiate and the burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs.
Teddy is survived by his wife: Mary Lynn Carter; sons: Timothy Carter (Candice) and Todd Carter (Jessica); daughter: Bridgette Smitherman (Kevin); stepsons: James Burt (Carol), Steven Burt (Crystal), Owen Burt (Jody) and Jamie Burt (Angela); stepdaughters: Sandra Burt and Olivia Wheat (David); 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Thomas Freeman (Connie), Billy Carter (Sandra) and Allen Carter (Angela); sisters: Retia Walker (Tim), Anita Benford and Freda Salter (Timmy) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: O.D. and Christine Carter; grandson: J.C. Burt and brothers-in-law: Ronnie Speer and Lonzo Benford.
