CULLMAN, Ala. – Friday was a day of celebration for R.E. Garrison Trucking as representatives from the City Planning Commission, the Chamber of Commerce, the City Council along with Mayor Woody Jacobs and Sheriff Matt Gentry gathered to officially cut the ribbon on its new downtown office. The office is located in the on First Avenue in the Warehouse District and is the company’s first location within the city.
After showing a brief video touching on the history and values of the company, Executive Director of Operations at R.E. Garrison Shawn Nelson went over some of what sets R.E. Garrison apart from other trucking companies.
“Out of all the trucking companies in America there are roughly 150 of those that have 500 trucks or more and you have one here in Cullman that has 650 and one of the largest refrigerated fleets in America,” Nelson said. “Now, because of this ribbon cutting today, you’ll have that right here in Cullman proper. I don’t think in all the years we’ve been here since 1959 we’ve ever been in the City of Cullman until this point, so we’re excited about that.”
Before cutting the ribbon, R.E. Garrison President Donovan Lovell took a moment to thank everyone in attendance for celebrating with them and thanked the community for its support over the years.
“I just appreciate everyone coming out and we look forward to many more years of this,” Lovell said. “We appreciate what this community has done for us, and all of our employees and we just want to make everybody at R.E. Garrison feel like one big family, so we appreciate everybody’s support.”
R.E. Garrison Trucking’s new office is located at 101 First Ave. NE.
