HANCEVILLE, Ala. The Hanceville City Council approved a request Thursday evening by the Hanceville Police Department and Hanceville Fire and Rescue to surplus three vehicles. Currently, demand for vehicles is high and HPD Bob Long explained that right now, by selling his truck, Asst. Chief Adam Hadder’s truck and Fire Chief Roger Green’s truck, they could sell them for far above the price they initially paid.
Long continued, “We are not going to immediately sell Adam’s because a replacement vehicle is not readily available for his, but there is one available for Roger and myself.” The surplus includes a Ford F150 and two Chevy Tahoes.
Improvements continue at the Hanceville Civic Center with the metal work on the front completed and Councilwomen Patty Dean and Brenda Carter’s continued work on the flower beds around the building. Carter said that the Civic Center will be looking great when the Kingsmen come to town.
The Kingsmen and Gold City will perform a concert at the Hanceville Civic Center July 31, 2021 at 5 p.m. The Hanceville Music Fest with Confederate Railroad is scheduled for September 18, 2021 at 5 p.m. at Hanceville’s Veterans Memorial Park.
Work is well underway at the new site for the Hanceville Senior Center. The concrete slab for the new building was poured Thursday morning.
The Hanceville City Council meets again on July 8, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. with a work session as 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
