HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Cullman County Board of Education on Thursday approved the hiring of Dr. Susan Patrick to be the new principal of Hanceville Middle School. Patrick is a 27-year veteran of the school system and is currently the assistant principal at Cold Springs High School.
Dr. Patrick is replacing Daniel Wakefield, who was recently named principal of Hanceville High School.
“I would like to thank Dr. Barnette and the Board for this opportunity,” said Patrick. “Hanceville Middle is a great school with a great staff. I look forward to building on the foundation of excellence that Mr. Wakefield left behind.”
During her career with Cullman County Schools, Dr. Patrick has served as a 7-12 math teacher, K-12 counselor, secondary curriculum coordinator, Fast Track/Virtual Programs coordinator, and high school assistant principal.
“We are excited about Dr. Susan Patrick returning to the Hanceville community where she has served as the high school counselor in the past,” said Cullman County School Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette. “She is as solid as they come in curriculum and instruction, and she has a passion to see young people succeed. I truly believe she will lead the incredible team at Hanceville Middle School to achieve great things.”
Dr. Patrick’s first day as Hanceville Middle School principal will be July 1.
