Milford Estes, 82, of Holly Pond, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was born February 26, 1939, in Cullman County, to George and Mary Latham Estes.
Milford was a man of many talents. He worked as a miner, built homes, worked at Americold, ran a bodywork shop and was a businessman in several other ventures throughout the years. He was also a true patriot and served his country honorably as a National Guardsmen. Milford loved to garden and was known for sharing the bounty of his crops with friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed yard work, and loved to mow his yard and tend his beautiful flowers. Milford enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He was loved and is sure to be missed by many.
Mr. Estes is preceded in death by his parents: George and Mary Estes; his brothers and sisters: Milton Estes, Talmadge Estes, Feltus Estes, Wayne Estes, Mozell Bailey, Louise Chestnut and his dear friend: Betty McKinsey.
He is survived by his beloved daughter: Rhonda (Rodney) Hooper; grandchildren: Clay Hooper, Tera Hooper (Trebvor Thomas); sister-in-law: Sue Linton Estes and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services for Mr. Estes are at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Brooklyn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from noon until services begin at 2 p.m.
