A funeral service for William Ernie Moore of Hanceville, Alabama will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Valley View Church in Arkadelphia. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Moore will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Reverends Horace Swann and Philip Starnes will officiate. Visitation will be held at Hanceville Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
Mr. Moore was born on October 11, 1937 in Arkadelphia to Jessie and Claudia (Thomas) Moore. He died on May 9, 2021 at his residence at the age of 83 surrounded by his family.
Survivors include his wife: Geneva Ann Moore; children: Steve (Nancy) Moore, Gregory Moore, Jeffrey Moore and Wesley (Sherry) Moore; grandchildren: Brittany, Caitlin, Hunter, Nash, Isaiah and Isabella; great-grandchildren: Kaden, Spencer, Liam, Cohen and Jaxon; sister: Ethelene (Net) Freeman and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his four sisters and three brothers.
