CULLMAN, Ala. — Talented teams from across the country will converge on Lewis Smith Lake May 14-15 for the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops. The second stop on the 2021 schedule, the event was originally scheduled for Apr. 16-17 before heavy flooding forced a move to later in the spring.

There are more than 250 boats registered for the tournament, including teams from The University of Alabama, Auburn University, University of Michigan, Ohio State, Jacksonville State University, University of Montevallo and bass-fishing powerhouses like Bethel University, Bryan College and McKendree University.

In college, each boat will have a two-member team that combines to bring their best five-fish limit to the scales. Each team will not only be vying for Bassmaster College Series Team of the Year honors, but one skilled angler will advance from the College Classic Bracket with a berth to the 2022 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk.

The circuit includes four regular-season events, plus a Wild Card tournament and season-ending National Championship.

The leading anglers in the Bassmaster College Series Team of the Year points standings will be determined after the four regular-season events. The Team of the Year will punch their ticket to the College Classic Bracket event, which will be held in September.

The College Classic Bracket takes the Top 3 teams from the National Championship plus the Team of the Year, and individual anglers compete head-to-head in bracket-style competition for a berth in the Classic, where they will compete for a prize purse of over $1 million.

The Carhartt Bassmaster College Series at Lewis Smith Lake presented by Bass Pro Shops is being hosted by the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce and Smith Lake Park.
