STATE TRACK MEET: Vinemont’s Lemons, Cold Springs’ Edgeworth win gold in 1600-meter

CULLMAN, Ala. – Both the 1A-3A state meet in Cullman and the 4A-7A state meet in Gulf Shores are in full swing today and tomorrow and a pair of local runners got Friday morning started with a pair of gold medals. Both Cold Springs’ Ethan Edgeworth and Vinemont’s Ethan Lemons placed first in the Class 2A and 3A Boys 1600-meter run with times of 4:31.18 and 4:25.96 respectively. Edgeworth outpaced the rest of the 2A field comfortably and Lemons pulled ahead of Providence Christian’s Conner Patterson on the final stretch to win by less than a second.
