VINMEONT, Ala. – After the varsity champion was crowned Tuesday night, the JV squads hit the field for their county tournament Wednesday. The opening round began at 4 p.m. and by the end of the night, the 2021 champion was crowned. That team turned out to be the West Point Lady Warriors who in dominating fashion knocked out Holly Pond 10-1 in the semifinals and shut out Fairview 9-0 in the title game to win their ninth consecutive JV county championship.
West Point 9 – Fairview 0 (Championship Game)
West Point struck first in its opening at-bats as Bethany Brock drew a leadoff walk and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Ella Minck. After a scoreless second inning, the Lady Warriors began to create some distance from Fairview in their next at-bats. Caitlin Simmons got hit by the pitch with one out and she later moved to third on a passed ball. Brock brought her home with an RBI single and Minck added one of her own to make it 3-0.
West Point made it 7-0 in the bottom of the third on an RBI triple by Carsyn Blankenship, an RBI single by Sidney Burks, and a two-run triple by Minck. The Lady Warriors added to their lead in the fourth as Kylee Quinn hit an RBI triple and later scored on a wild pitch. That was more than enough run support for starter Kara Jones, who dominated the Lady Aggies from the start as she allowed just three hits and struck out nine.

Fairview 7 – Good Hope 3 (Semifinals)
Fairview took on Good Hope in one of the semi-final game as only team could move on to the championship game and behind a huge first inning, the Lady Aggies moved on to the championship game with a 7-3 win over the Lady Raiders.
Scott finished with a hit and two RBIs for Fairview. Buckelew added a hit and an RBI and Fales drove in a run as well. For Good Hope, Carley Adams finished with a hit and an RBI and Miller added a hit as well.
West Point 10 – Holly Pond 1 (Semifinals)
Either West Point or Holly Pond was going to fill the other slot in the championship game and the Lady Warriors, behind a huge fourth inning, pulled away late to defeat the Lady Broncos, 10-1, to move on to the title game.
Quinn finished with two hits and three RBIs for West Point. Jones added a pair of hits and two RBIs. Brock and Lee each collected a hit and two RBIs.
Fairview 15 – Vinemont 0 (First round)
Fairview took on Vinemont in one of the first-round games of the day and it was all Lady Aggies as they put up five runs in the first and 10 more in the second inning in their 15-0 shutout win over the Lady Eagles after just three innings to move on to the semi-final round.
Lopez finished with three RBIs for Fairview. Ada Fales and Allie Scott each finished with a hit and two RBIs. Kylie Kovar added three hits and an RBI. Ralie Gaines collected a hit, and an RBI and Reagan Dunkin added an RBI as well. Lopez held the Lady Eagles to just one hit through three innings, walked three and struck out three.
Holly Pond 15 – Cold Springs 6 (First round)
Holly Pond took on Cold Springs in the other first-round game and a huge 12-run third inning was key for the Lady Broncos as they rolled past the Lady Eagles to move on to the semi-finals.
Neal finished with three hits and four RBIs for Holly Pond, including a two-run home run. Nail added three hits of her own and three RBIs, including a solo home run. Ellie Burks collected a pair of hits and two RBIs and Lauryn Hoffman added a pair of hits and two RBIs. For Cold Springs, Madelyn Davis, Sadie Smith and Addison Kilgo all finished with a hit and an RBI. Hope Speegle and Williams each added an RBI in the contest as well.
