Graveside services for Vondaleen Peyton, 82, of Cullman, who passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, will be at Mt. Vernon Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home directing.
She was born in Cullman County Nov. 11, 1938 to Samuel Adolphus “Doc” and Naomi Nunnelly Latham.
She graduated from Fairview High School in 1957. Vondaleen moved to Birmingham and started her passion and career as a dental assistant. She graduated from Bessemer Technical School as a dental assistant and received her license in June of 1960. She married William “Bill” Peyton July 12, 1980. She retired after 55 years and became the full-time caregiver of her loving husband.
Vondaleen loved traveling, going to the casino, square dancing, and people. Yard work was her favorite pastime. She loved animals and always had room for anther cat or dog.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Luther H. (Anniebell) Stidham and Buster Latham; and sister Cole Latham Smith.
Survived by Harold “Bootie” and Betty Hyatt of Baileyton; caregiver-niece Linda O’Neil; stepdaughters Paula (Glenn) Hardin, Pam (Josh) Piatt and Sandy (Bobbie) Sorrel, all of Indiana; stepson Scott (Debbie) Peyton, also of Indiana; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
