Raymond Alan Brauer, 62, of Cullman, Alabama entered into rest Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Ray was born June 20, 1958 in Niles, Ohio. He was a graduate of the Class of 1976 at Howland High School and went on to the University of Cincinnati where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He worked as electrical engineer for over 30 years. In 2015, he became the Mechatronics teacher at the Cullman Area Career Center. He also taught Sunday school class at Gardendale First Baptist Church for over 18 years.
He enjoyed going to Gulf Shores in the summer and working a part-time job at Meyer Vacation Rentals and Publix. He enjoyed watching and supporting his kids and grandson playing sports. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach, and it became his second home here on Earth.
Ray impacted everyone he came in contact with, whether he knew it or not. He had a special way of making people laugh with his dry sense of humor, and we all knew if he wasn’t picking on you, he didn’t like you. Ray was hardworking, sarcastic, and was a man after God’s own heart. He will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 26, 2021.
Ray is survived by his wife Karla Bailey Brauer; sister Sandra Brauer; sons Blake Brauer (Rachel), Michael Brauer (Lacey), and Cole Fetner (Emily); daughter Mckenzie Alston (Jordan); grandson Cade Brauer; uncle and aunt Richard and Sally Brauer.
Ray was preceded in death by his father Raymond C. Brauer; mother Janet Pavlik Brauer; and mother-in-law Eloise Bailey.
The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy., Gardendale, AL. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. with a time of visitation following the service from 4-5 p.m.
