(Update) Holly Pond woman killed in 3-vehicle wreck at Hwy. 278/Hwy. 69

CULLMAN, Ala. – One person was killed and four injured in a three-vehicle crash at U.S. Highway 278 and Alabama Highway 69 in east Cullman County Wednesday afternoon. The wreck happened at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick on Thursday morning identified the victim as Tracey Mabrey, 54, of Holly Pond. Cullman Police Traffic Homicide Investigation Sgt. Joey Duncan said four other people were transported to Cullman Regional.

Said Duncan, “The Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit was called out to investigate the crash. It is still under investigation.”

CPD Lt. Jeff Warnke, THI Officer Jonathan England, CPD patrol officers, Cullman Fire Rescue and Cullman EMS also responded to the scene.

This incident comes just four days after a fatal crash at U.S. Highway 278 and Alabama Highway 157.
