FULTONDALE, Ala. – Following Monday night’s catastrophic tornado in Fultondale, Hanceville Mayor Kenneth Nail and Public Works Director Rusty Fields dispatched a crew with self-loading brush trucks and chainsaws to the stricken city to clear downed trees and debris. The mayor reached out to Fultondale City Hall early Tuesday morning with an offer of help, which was gratefully accepted.

Nail told The Tribune, “Folks came and helped us in 2011. And I’ll tell you, the (city) council’s been very supportive of us going and helping other folks, and we always try to do it. We wouldn’t have the resources like the City of Birmingham, or Decatur or Huntsville, but we can send some of what we’ve got. When you’re in trouble, any help is usually appreciated. We’ll just go down and do what we can.”
