CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman Police Department (CPD) spent some time Tuesday prowling the city streets in search of . . . good drivers! Armed with ice chests full of hams and turkeys, officers looked for drivers exhibiting safe driving habits, and rewarded them for their good behavior.
As officers were preparing for the hunt Tuesday morning, Police Chief Kenny Culpepper told The Tribune, “We did that during Thanksgiving, too, and it was very successful, so we’re going to do that. If the officers see somebody driving in a good, safe manner, we’ll reward them instead of penalize with a ticket.”
CPD Administrative Assistant Rita Bailey coordinated the project.
