A private funeral service for Ronald Gene Rusk, 76, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020 at Emeus Baptist Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Revs. Steven Sutter, Lane Sheppard, Paul Cleghorn and Tyler Sheppard will be officiating. The family welcomes everyone to attend the graveside service with military honors for Mr. Rusk. A visitation for the family will be from 1-2 p.m. Everyone is requested to please wear a mask when attending.

Mr. Rusk passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 at Cullman Regional Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1943 to William Troy and Mary Idella Pullen Rusk.
He was a longtime member and deacon of Emeus Baptist Church. He was a man that loved everyone, and even people that weren’t related to him called him PawPaw Gene. Gene served his country in the United States Army and served in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bobby Rusk, Joe Rusk, and Carlton Rusk; and sisters Bonnie Cornelius and Birdie Harrison.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rita Kilpatrick Rusk; daughters Gerrita (Paul) Cleghorn, Ginger (Wayne) Sheppard, and Jarria Rusk; brothers George (Carolyn) Rusk, Rayburn Rusk, Larry Rusk, Buehl (Marvalene) Rusk, and Jerry Rusk; sisters-in-law Betty Rusk and Decca Rusk; grandchildren Nikki Jenkins, Brady (Carley) Cleghorn, Greyson (Dylan) Hand, Tyler Sheppard, and Aubry Cleghorn; great-grandchildren Ezra Jenkins and Everlyn Cleghorn; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
