Martha S. Powe Pellegra, beloved Mama Bobo, born June 9, 1926 in Cullman, Alabama passed away Nov. 28, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sam J. Pellegra after a loving marriage of 41 years. She was preceded in death by her parents William Henry Powe and Effie Oden Powe; brothers Ruben “Buddy” Powe, William Teddy Powe, Walter Powe, and Clarence Powe; and sisters Dean Johnson and Jeanette Quattlebaum.
She is survived by her sisters Jackie Quattlebaum and Gaynell Marty; her step-sons Conrad Pellegra and Gerard (Susan) Pellegra; step-daughter Jo Ann (Paul) Jones; her grandchildren Brian (Angie) Pellegra, Philip (Ariana) Pellegra, Corey Jones, Jamie Jones, and Ryan (Ryan Rane) Jones; great-grandchildren Ethan Pellegra, Zayne Pellegra, Halle Pellegra; and many nieces and nephews.
Bobo worked for American Printing Company for over 30 years. She lovingly cared for her family in Cullman and in Birmingham. Bobo and Sam enjoyed hosting family events, and she always enjoyed her flowers and gardening,
Due to COVID, the services will be for family. Family visitation will be at Ridout’s Gardendale Saturday, Dec. 5 from 11 a.m.-noon and burial to follow 12:30 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. COVID restrictions will apply with face masks and social distancing.
