CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. – A two-vehicle crash in southwest Cullman County late Saturday night killed three people and injured two. The incident happened along the 13000 block of Alabama Highway 69 South, southwest of Bug Tussle, at 10:26 p.m.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick on Sunday identified the deceased as Bailey Dewayne Bennett, 20, of Haleyville; Brookelynne Alexus Dowdy, 20, of Double Springs; and Tristan Stormy Lane Black, 22, of Lynn.

The three victims were in a 2005 Honda Element, driven by Black. Alabama State Troopers said the Honda was struck by a 2010 Cadillac CTS operated by Kristi L. Cordes, 37, of Hanceville. Troopers said Cordes’ vehicle crossed the center line and collided with Black’s vehicle.

Bennett, Dowdy and Black were pronounced dead at the scene by Kilpatrick.

A juvenile passenger in the Honda and Cordes were transported by helicopter for treatment.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
