Shots fired at Cullman Applebee’s

CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Police on Saturday evening reported an exchange of gunfire between a customer who was leaving the Applebee’s restaurant at 2106 Cherokee Ave. SW and an unidentified person who approached the customer on foot in the parking lot.

CPD Sgt. Adam Walker said the unidentified person fired first, and the customer returned fire. The suspect fled the scene.

No one was injured, but another customer’s car had windows damaged. Walker said the owner of the damaged car had no connection to the incident or either of the parties involved.

The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m.
